Introduction. Urinary incontinence problem affects not only the women of advanced age, but also those who are shortly after the delivery of a baby. The presence of this disease is characterized by the influence on woman’s family, social and professional life, and above all, on the sexual aspects. The early implementation of diagnostics allows to rapidly choose the proper treatment. Aim. The aim of the work is to know the quality of life of women with urinary incontinence. Material and methods. The questionnaire was carried out on among 100 patients treated at The Department of Gynecology and Pregnancy’s Pathology in Pleszew Medical Center (all patients suffered from gynecology diseases). The survey consisted of 18 questions and was divided into three parts: demographic data, obstetric history and the information concerning urinary incontinence. Overall, the study included women aged 30 to 81. Results. Most of the respondents indicated frequent urinary tract infections as a cause of incontinence (12%), performing hard manual work immediately after the labour – 18%, birth of a large baby. 72% of the women confirmed that the urinary incontience interferes with their family life, the professional sphere – 49% and their social life – 40%. Incontience impedes their sexual life. Conclusions. Women who contend with problem of urinary incontinence longer than five years indicate the adverse influence of this sickness on sexual life more frequently. The frequency of reporting urinary incontinence to a physician diminishes with age.
