Patients‘ safety is the major constituent element of quality of healthcare system all over the world. WHO warns that undesired incidents might account for up to 10 per cent of hospitalised patients. Mechanical birth injury is a serious problem in obstetrics. In recent years there has been a substantial decrease in the number of cases of birth injury due to early detection of factors which might affect the fetus and due to the choice of the best childbirth procedures.
