Introduction. The Reimbursement Act entered into force on 01.01.2012, changing the existing rules and reimbursement system in Poland. The premise of the Act was to reduce the incoming scale patient payments for reimbursed drugs, thereby increasing their availability. Legislative bodies also assumed that the introduction of the new law will eliminate the so‑called tourism pharmacy, by requiring wholesalers and pharmacies fixed margins and prices. However, the legislative process did not take into account the opinion of most of the medical community and patients themselves. Aim. The aim of this study was to obtain the opinion of the medical community and patients about the new Reimbursement Act. Material and methods. The study group consisted of 157 respondents from the area of Great Poland. The research tool used in the study were anonymous questionnaires sent to doctors and pharmacists/pharmacy technicians, as well as a separate questionnaire to patients. Results. The sentences on the study population was divided Reimbursement Act. Both pharmacists (74%) and patients (79%) believed that the new law Reimbursement did not alter the behavior of patients what to buy ordained drugs. The active substances that do not require refunds are ibuprofen and loperamide. Conclusions. Opinions on the new Reimbursement Act are split. Most respondents spoke negatively about the new regulations. Further legislative changes need to take into account public opinion.
