Introduction. Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men in most countries worldwide. Preventive examination are basic component of the battle against it. Health education has a great impact on the treatment prostate cancer therapeutic and nursing care. Aim. The aim of the study was to assess the state of knowledge of men about treatment prostate cancer and its prevention. Material and methods. In the research part of the thesis results based on a questionnaire study were presented. The criterion for results comparison was the age of the men who responded to the questionnaire. Results and conclusions. Based on the present study, it was concluded that older men have more knowledge about prostate cancer, its causes, methods of examinations, treatment and consequences. This proves that the problem of prostate cancer is often neglected in young mens education, which causes inadequate level of knowledge. The main source of knowledge about the prevention of prostate cancer is mass media, which indicates the need to increase educational efforts to promote knowledge about risk factors and methods of early detection of cancer among men.
