In present article, a profession of laboratory diagnostician and its role in the current health care system were described. In Poland, a laboratory diagnostician profession belongs to the professions of public trust. It is saddled with an enormous responsibility in relation to the life and health of the patient. As a result of laboratory tests an authorized result is obtained. It forms the basis of most medical decisions. Therefore, the most important aspect is relevant technical preparation of laboratory diagnostician.
