Midwife profession in Poland undergoes numerous changes during last years. The law according to be a midwife are changing. Since 70’s in the 20th century to 1996 there were a little changing in legislation of the midwife profession but the dynaming changes were during first 50 years in the last century. Education and practicing the midwife proffesion have being changed. It was due to political and demographic changes. This work aims is to present the midwife's profession (both in terms of education and profession) in Poland in the 20th century.
