Various language impairments in children, including central auditory processing disorder, have negative effects on the process of effective listening. These deficiencies entail a number of problems with learning of both first and foreign language. The Tomatis auditory training is a therapy which, through auditory stimulation, can result in an extended spectrum of perceived frequencies, which involves an enhanced development of patients’ linguistic abilities. The paper reports on the successfulness of a programme that combined the auditory training with the language module delivered to early primary school children. The results of the tests prior to the beginning of the therapy and right after its finish show significant gains in basic linguistic skills. The results point to the positive effects of the Tomatis auditory training in the process of language learning.

Key words: Tomatis auditory training, linguistic development, language impairments.
